About whales
Why whales need our protection
Song of the sea
Blue whales sing the loudest sounds of any animal — up to 188 decibels, audible across thousands of kilometres.
Heart the size of a car
A blue whale's heart is as large as a small car and beats just 4–8 times per minute.
Living CO₂ sink
A single whale sequesters an average of 33 tonnes of CO₂ — more than 1,000 trees in a year.

FAQ
Adopting a whale — questions
How do I adopt a whale?
Pick your animal on aninu.de, give it a name, pay €24.99 once. You'll get the certificate and GPS tracking access in the aninu app instantly. No subscription, no contract.
Does the GPS tracking really work live?
In the aninu app you see your animal's position on the map. It is updated every day, and you also see the route your animal has travelled.
How is this different from WWF, NABU, or Geschenkbaum?
Classic wildlife sponsorships = donation + certificate, no specific animal. aninu = you adopt a specific whale, name it, follow it via GPS. No subscription, one-time €24.99. Geschenkbaum has no GPS tracking.
Can I gift a whale adoption?
Yes. You'll get a digital certificate as PDF instantly — print it or forward by email. One of the most-given gifts at aninu: personal, sustainable, no physical shipping needed.
