Did you know?
Seal up close.
Dives 200 metres deep
Harbor seals stay under water for up to 30 minutes and dive as deep as 200 metres when hunting — their heartbeat slows to just a few beats per minute.
Hunts with its whiskers
With highly sensitive whiskers, seals can trace the wake a fish left minutes earlier — even in complete darkness and murky water.
Almost lost twice
First hunting, then two distemper epidemics: the population collapsed by more than half several times. Today around 40,000 seals live in the Wadden Sea again.
Follow your seal every day.
Currently roaming: Wadden Sea, North Sea. As a sponsor you see exactly where your animal is every day.
Choose adoption →Your impact
Your sponsorship supports the protection of the Wadden Sea — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the nursery of the harbor seals right off the German coast.
1 kg less plastic
For every adoption, 1 kg of plastic is removed from the ocean — through our partnership with Plastic Wave in Bali. No time limit, no subscription.
