Harbor seals stay under water for up to 30 minutes and dive as deep as 200 metres when hunting — their heartbeat slows to just a few beats per minute.

First hunting, then two distemper epidemics: the population collapsed by more than half several times. Today around 40,000 seals live in the Wadden Sea again.
