About koalas
Why koalas need our protection
Human fingerprints
Koalas have fingerprints so similar to human ones that even forensic experts can confuse them.
Eucalyptus specialists
Of more than 700 eucalyptus species, koalas eat only around 50 — and only the leaves of specific trees in their region.
50% fewer in 20 years
Due to bushfires, drought, and disease, the koala population has dropped by over 50% in 20 years.

FAQ
Adopting a koala — questions
How do I adopt a koala?
Pick your animal on aninu.de, give it a name, pay €24.99 once. You'll get the certificate and GPS tracking access in the aninu app instantly. No subscription, no contract.
Does the GPS tracking really work live?
In the aninu app you see your animal's position on the map. It is updated every day, and you also see the route your animal has travelled.
How is this different from WWF, NABU, or Geschenkbaum?
Classic wildlife sponsorships = donation + certificate, no specific animal. aninu = you adopt a specific koala, name it, follow it via GPS. No subscription, one-time €24.99. Geschenkbaum has no GPS tracking.
Can I gift a koala adoption?
Yes. You'll get a digital certificate as PDF instantly — print it or forward by email. One of the most-given gifts at aninu: personal, sustainable, no physical shipping needed.
