About giraffes
Why giraffes need our protection
10 minutes of sleep
Giraffes sleep for just about 10 minutes a day — in short naps, so they can flee at any moment.
A superlative heart
A giraffe's heart weighs over 10 kg and pumps blood 2 metres upwards — directly against gravity.
Silent connection
Giraffes communicate mainly through infrasound, body language, and touch — barely perceptible to humans.

FAQ
Adopting a giraffe — questions
How do I adopt a giraffe?
Pick your animal on aninu.de, give it a name, pay €24.99 once. You'll get the certificate and GPS tracking access in the aninu app instantly. No subscription, no contract.
Does the GPS tracking really work live?
In the aninu app you see your animal's position on the map. It is updated every day, and you also see the route your animal has travelled.
How is this different from WWF, NABU, or Geschenkbaum?
Classic wildlife sponsorships = donation + certificate, no specific animal. aninu = you adopt a specific giraffe, name it, follow it via GPS. No subscription, one-time €24.99. Geschenkbaum has no GPS tracking.
Can I gift a giraffe adoption?
Yes. You'll get a digital certificate as PDF instantly — print it or forward by email. One of the most-given gifts at aninu: personal, sustainable, no physical shipping needed.
