About elephants
Why elephants need our protection
Mourning the dead
Elephants recognise up to 30 deceased members of their species by their bones and return to their resting places — a sign of genuine grief.
Infrasound communication
They communicate at frequencies humans cannot hear — across distances of up to 10 kilometres.
Eco-architects
Elephants create waterholes, disperse seeds, and shape landscapes — they are the cornerstone of their ecosystem.

FAQ
Adopting an elephant — questions
How do I adopt an elephant?
Pick your animal on aninu.de, give it a name, pay €24.99 once. You'll get the certificate and GPS tracking access in the aninu app instantly. No subscription, no contract.
Does the GPS tracking really work live?
In the aninu app you see your animal's position on the map. It is updated every day, and you also see the route your animal has travelled.
How is this different from WWF, NABU, or Geschenkbaum?
Classic wildlife sponsorships = donation + certificate, no specific animal. aninu = you adopt a specific elephant, name it, follow it via GPS. No subscription, one-time €24.99. Geschenkbaum has no GPS tracking.
Can I gift an elephant adoption?
Yes. You'll get a digital certificate as PDF instantly — print it or forward by email. One of the most-given gifts at aninu: personal, sustainable, no physical shipping needed.
